Fretless Bass Collection – a library of fretless basses in GIGA format.
A Warwick® Corvette™ was used to create this library.
Chromatic sampling of each string up to the 15th fret is used (except for the G string – up to the 21st fret). Additionally, each note has 32 dynamic layers, sorted by volume level (1 = loud attack, 32 = soft attack), adding a realistic effect to the sound (see screenshots).
Since sampling was performed up to the 15th fret, the notes A1 (on the E string) and A1 (on the A string) will be duplicated. It’s up to you to decide which string to use.
If you don’t want to go into detail and select the desired notes from specific strings, you can use the “FBC Compact.gig” file, which contains a fully working and ready-to-use combination of notes. Alternatively, you can choose the “FBC Light.gig” file, which contains fewer dynamic layers.
The samples were recorded using Roland converters and were not subjected to final mastering, allowing you to master the mix as you see fit.
The files “FBC 1E-String.gig,” “FBC 2A-String.gig,” “FBC 3D-String.gig,” and “FBC 4G-String.gig” are a set of samples for each string. These are the main files to which you can load “Drops” and “Ghost Notes.”
The files “FBC 1E-Drops.gig,” “FBC 2A-Drops.gig,” “FBC 3D-Drops.gig,” and “FBC 4G-Drops.gig” are a set of slide-down samples for each string. They can be loaded in addition to the main files (string files).
The file “FBC Ghost Notes.gig” has no comments. It can be loaded in addition to the main files (string files).
The “FBC Compact.gig” file is a pre-made combination of all available notes. When opening this file, you can choose which notes to load: “Strings,” “Drops,” “Ghost Notes,” or all at once. This file has 32 dynamic layers (see screenshots).
The “FBC Light.gig” file is a pre-made combination of all available notes. When opening this file, you can choose which notes to load: “Strings,” “Drops,” “Ghost Notes,” or all at once. This file has only 4 dynamic layers;
