Description : Widely used in music from the 1960s, starting with the British Invasion era, and through the 1970s and 1980s, in the ska and new wave styles. Finally, the EP-1: EP-1 electric piano models, which first appeared in the 1960s and have since become favorite instruments in soul, jazz and pop music. This plugin is based on MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology developed for the famous Korg KRONOS and NAUTILUS synthesizers.

The legendary VOX Continental organ has been faithfully recreated in VOX Super Continental software!
Originally conceived in the early 1960s as a more portable and affordable alternative to wheel organs, the VOX Continental, with its distinctive sound and striking red and black design, soon became a fixture of British Invasion bands. The Continental’s bright tone and brash character paired perfectly with jangly guitars and stood out easily from the mix on stage and in the studio.

Production ceased around 1970, but in the ’70s and ’80s a new generation of ska, garage, punk and new wave bands began using these instruments. Battered and worn from decades of use, and not particularly stable to begin with, these instruments tend to be charmingly out of tune. As the contacts aged, each note began to sound slightly different. With this unique sound, combining electric timbre with vintage character, the Vox Continental became a fixture on the scene and in the studio, especially in indie music.

The KORG VOX Super Continental Collection began as a meticulous recreation of a number of Continental keyboards, including a beloved instrument personally owned by the software’s lead developer, with the goal of reproducing the Super Continental sound as accurately as possible. This analysis included details such as the behavior of hundreds of individual key contacts, and is the most accurate VOX Continental software instrument available!

Calibrated symbol
The VOX Continental oscillators are based on unstable germanium transistors. Octave dividers mean that the octaves are always clear, but all other intervals can be at least slightly out of tune (and often much more so). This creates a characteristic choral effect when playing chords and gives melodies a special charm.

Individual notes are created by combining the overtones produced by the fingerboards. Each key has up to five contact wires, one for each fingerboard. When each wire touches its fingerboard, the corresponding overtone sounds (often with a small burst of noise). Over the years, the contacts tend to wear out and shift, so the wires touch the fingerboards at different times. This gives each note a unique character when the key is pressed and released.
All of these imperfections are carefully modeled, and calibration controls allow you to customize them to your liking.

Improved user experience
Smooth audio transitions allow previously used voices and effects to naturally continue playing as sounds change. KORG’s advanced sound browser supports categories, text search, and more. On-screen help provides information and helpful tips for each panel, knob, and switch.

Effects
The VOX Super Continental was almost always connected to an amp, so of course we have a choice of amp and cabinet models, as well as a stunning rotary speaker. There are two effects pre-amp, one post-amp, and finally a dedicated reverb slot. For effects, you can choose from 30 types, including vintage pedals and tape delays, as well as modern reverse delays and shimmering reverbs.
