When creating Tokyo Scoring Strings , we wanted the library to be fun, inspiring, and easy to use, but powerful enough to create truly realistic, believable performances. We put a lot of effort into polishing and refining our legato so that it sounds completely natural and realistic, whether you’re writing expressive or fast passages.
Tokyo Scoring Strings gives you incredibly precise control, as well as an exceptional level of detail and the ability to simulate an even wider range of performance thanks to expanded articulations.
World-Class Studio Sound, Endless Mix Possibilities
Choose from the following three mic mixes, or design your own from four individual mic positions.
– Board Mix: An upfront mix by Mitsunori Aizawa, using his hardware setup at Sound City.
– Anima Mix: A light and airy mix most suited to agile and intricate writing.
– Cinema Mix: A dark, smooth mix suitable for cinematic scoring and low string chorales.
Individual mic signals in the Mic Mixer patch:
– Close: A very dry mono signal that can be used for adding more crisp detail.
– Decca: A “Decca tree” mic arrangement using cardioid mic.
– Side: An “outriggers” signal, providing a wider stereo image than the Decca.
– Back: Ribbon mics pointed at the wall, with a darker tone that can be used to bring out warmth.

The ‘Surround’ and ‘Room’ positions have been removed in favor of the ‘Side’ and ‘Back’ positions, which provide more contrast.

Installing the update :
Copy with replacement of folders and distribution files to the root folder of the library .
Developer’s note:
The new patches are installed into a library folder named Instruments 2.0 and Samples 2.0 . This approach will leave 100% of your old projects using Tokyo Scoring Strings 1.0 untouched. The two versions of the library will live side by side. We chose this approach because of the fundamental changes in Tokyo Scoring Strings 2.0 . While using the same MIDI from a Tokyo Scoring Strings 1.0 project will sound pretty similar, it will definitely not be identical, so we (as composers ourselves) are confident that this is not acceptable for archival or current projects.[collapse]
