Recorded in controlled studio conditions at Scotland’s leading recording studio, Gorbals Sound, the viola has been captured in incredible detail and without compromise using dual-mic technology. This combined method allows you to freely switch between the direct signal and a more spacious surround, giving you the ability to precisely adjust the position and distance of the viola .
Each of the included sound sets, divided into 6 separate categories, offers a wide range of features and performance styles, all easily accessible from the built-in browser. Deep Solo Viola features five individually recorded legato articulations, allowing you to play in a variety of styles and speeds, with or without a mute. Each of the performance-based legatos also features original musical coloring and dynamic changes, ensuring that the purity and realism of a live performance is accurately preserved. With 88 independently recorded, multi-dynamic, and authentic-sounding articulations, you have access to all the mechanisms you need to create music that goes beyond realism.

Deep Solo Viola offers a vast collection of fully tempo-synced patterns and short phrases, including smooth portato passages, detaché, measured tremolo and more. The Performance category features several phrases: Tuplet, Triplet, Swing and Jeté (Ricochét), all with different dynamics and circular repetitions.

Along with traditional orchestral articulations, Deep Solo Viola dives into the more esoteric, exciting and imaginative universe of solo strings. We have also included the deep range of muted Con Sordino articulations with many short notes, dynamic bows, crescendos and smooth true legato.
