Studio Quartet Series : Deep Solo Bass marks a new leap in sampling for us. We’ve recorded one of the greatest solo double bassists of our time, principal double bassist of the BBC and other orchestras, sampling 88 articulations in ultra-deep detail, ranging from true polyphonic legato to a myriad of short note variations, dozens of velocity arcs, twelve different ostinatos and performance-based articulations. Recorded in controlled studio conditions at Scotland’s leading recording studio, Gorbals Sound, the double bass has been captured in incredible detail and without compromise using dual-mic technology. This combined method allows you to freely switch between the direct signal and a more spacious ambience, giving you the ability to precisely control the position and distance of the bass .

The Performance category features several phrases: Tuplet, Triplet, Swing and Jeté (Ricochét), all with different dynamics and circular repetitions.
