Christopher Young has a wonderful and unique approach to scores – both working with orchestras and performers and weaving musical sound design and textures into his music. We have been working with Christopher Young for the last 18 months and have been recording and experimenting for over 35 years. The end result is an incredible collection of organic textures and pro-level tools.
8Dio Soul Series: Christopher Young – Orchestral Touch is a large collection of orchestral effects specially created and designed by Christopher Young. 8Dio has developed a new and improved user interface for Christopher Young’s libraries, offering many new features. Perhaps the most notable of these is our new IR engine (with impulse response). The IR engine offers you the ability to turn any sample in the library into a convolution pulse. The pulse can then be applied to any other sample in the library. In addition, the user interface also includes instant stacking, reversing, stretching, shifting, and chaos functions. The library also introduces for the first time our new Chaos 4.0 system, which allows you to create any chain of effects you choose.

Endless Sound Design – The Christopher Young Libraries offer an endless amount of sound design options. Get started with over 16,000 breathtakingly beautiful samples. Then add our new IR engine, which allows you to turn any sample into impulse convolutions. Add features such as instant overlay, reversal, time stretch, and offset functions. Add the new advanced Chaos 4.0 engine that offers you the ability to create your own FX chain racks. Add an expanded modulation matrix with a 4-part FX control. Add chaos to all this. Do it your way.
IR Engine – The new IR (Impulse Response Engine) offers you the ability to take any sample and convert it into an impulse response. Simply play any sample on your controller and press “Make IR” and the sample is now layered like a convolutional reverb on other samples. Turn the piano into a reverb for your strings. Take a lone female voice and layer it over a dark slide flute ensemble. Make the ensemble ghostly, like a shadow behind and a lone bell in the distance. The IR engine allows you to instantly completely change the soundscape of everything you play.
4-Part Modulation Engine and New Chaos FX 4.0 – Christopher Young’s Libraries also contain our new 4-Part Modulation Engine for extreme sample and effect work. Each of the 4 modulation modules contains its own X/Y matrix grid, and you can assign an FX parameter to both X/Y values. In addition, powerful features such as reverse and stacking are just a click away. The stack allows you to play multiple articulations at the same time. Very useful for synth presets. On top of that, we’ve also added our new FX Chaos 4.0 engine which allows you to create your own custom FX racks and signal chains. Everything is easy to use.
Top features in the foreground – We’ve placed the most important features on the front of the instrument so you can easily access them at any time. One click to flip everything. One click to stretch the sample across the keyboard. You can also go further with modulation options such as Low Frequency, Tone and Formant Machine, Advanced Gate System for host-synced arpeggios. But let’s leave aside these amazing features. The real magic of the collection is in the samples.
