Timestep of the UK (Sound Hi-Fi) recently introduced an upgraded version of Technics new SL-1200GAE Direct Drive turntable. They’ve removed the Technics arm and replaced it with an SME IV � as you can see in our picture here � and they’ve also junked the unscreened internal switch-mode power supply, replacing it with an exetrnal linear supply. As a package it comes fitted with the Audio Technica AT33PTG/II moving coil cartridge. Our review of this great new package will appear in the September 2016 issue of Hi-Fi World, due on the bookstands and in Apple Newsstand start of August 2016.
