REAPER (Rapid Environment for Audio Prototyping and Efficient Recording) is designed for the recording, arrangement, editing, mixing and rendering of audio.

Cockos Reaper is one of the most advanced software for creating music, both in the studio and at home. The main “trick” of the program is that it has a tern, keyboard and audio editing. You can define an unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks, not counting how much you can add virtual instruments VST format.

Reaper does not take as much space on the hard disk and does not load the processor as a program in a series of FL Studio, Cubase, Reason and Sonar. With this software you will be able to work even on low-end computers with sound cards that do not support modes Full duplex. Although, if sound cards supports this mode, you get unlimited opportunities to create their own songs with a professional sound, even in formats such as the 5 + 1, but with additional plug-ins, and 7 + 1.

It is a huge plus of the program include the fact that it supports VST, not counting the support of DirectX plug-ins. You can use the built-in editing tools like audio or MIDI tracks, as well as third-party plug-ins.

The program also supports the connection system of virtual instruments ReWire. Thanks to the harmonious interface you can always see what you’re editing at the moment. Virtual multi-channel remote control is always in front of your eyes – with its help you can instantly perform transactions with a volume change, editing effects like on a particular track, and the Master-track.

  • Support for an unlimited number of audio tracks.
  • Audio tracks are all fully routable (multiple inputs, outputs).
  • Volume, pan controls and envelopes per track.
  • Supports audio processing plug-ins (DirectX, DXi, VST, VSTi, and Jesusonic) with automation, easy chain manipulation and editing.
  • Pitch shifting and time stretching.
  • Fast, reasonable and usable Windows-style UI, working well on both low and high resolutions or multiple monitors.
  • ASIO, Kernel Streaming, WaveOut, and DirectSound support for playback and recording.
  • Reads WAV, OGG, MP3 and MIDI files, records WAV and MIDI files.

  • Any track can act as a bus, for routing flexibility.
  • Tracks can have one or more (mono or stereo) hardware sends, for analog mixing capability.

  • Project consolidation/export options (for rendering all or parts of any number of tracks to WAV, etc.).
  • A UI and architecture that allows you to easily cut loops of many tracks simultaneously, without having to write them to disk.
  • Support for plug-in generated media (such as click tracks, etc.).
  • Project tempo envelopes for variable tempos in track, grid/snapping that supports variable tempos.
  • 64-bit floating point sample pipeline for high quality.
  • Advanced recording and monitoring options; examples:
    • You can route multiple tracks (inputs and/or media items) into a bus, and record THAT mixed down version.
    • You can record the input signal, or record the post-FX, post-track-render signal.
