Description :
BRIGHT ROOM AND GENTLE SCROLL-
The rock dulcimer is a high quality wooden three-stringed instrument that emits a soft and melodic drone, also known as a bourdon tone. It is well known for its use in the works of Thomas Newman such as the American Beauty soundtrack.
We focused on recording the sound of the mountain dulcimer in various articulations. You can play the mountain dulcimer with your fingers, but we also played it with piano hammers, a plectrum pick and a mallet for percussion instruments. Apart from the five presets, the new Stringed 2022 GI supports the many options available in an impressive way. We must not forget about his soft shimmering strumming.

WHAT IS A MOUNTAIN CIMBALA?
Although the mountain dulcimer originated in the Appalachians of North America, it was in the hands of German, English, Irish and Scottish immigrants that the instrument found its life. The instrument incorporates characteristics from many European stringed instruments, especially the German Scheitholt, which is considered the main ancestor of the mountain dulcimer.
Made of wood and traditionally shaped like an hourglass, the instrument uses metal-wound strings to create a bright sound that creates a soft strumming effect as overtones. Known for its drone (or bourdon) effect, the rock dulcimer is considered an authentic instrument of American music. However, it has also been modernized and used in various musical genres. Perhaps the most famous example of the modern use of the dulcimer is the music composed by Thomas Newman for the film American Beauty.

WHAT DO YOU GET?
natural sound
We mainly focused on recording notes that sound very realistic and natural. All major articulations were recorded with a cold condenser in four passes, each sound recorded in 2-3 layers of dynamic activity.
Glissando
The presented glissando mode is unique and ideal for the sound of the mountain dulcimer.
Tremolo
You can easily play a real tremolo activated by the modulation wheel.
Strumming engine.
The highly realistic strumming engine perfectly mimics the velvety and shimmering strumming of a mountain dulcimer. This is a unique feature with a play speed slider that simulates the speed of an instrument’s strumming and humming.
