Description : OSC OSCar is a legend among synthesizers. Released in 1983 by the Oxford Synthesizer Company, this unique instrument is a combination of analog and digital sound. The oscillators are digitally designed with the ability to build waveforms using additive synthesis. They are powered by an analog multi-mode filter that was inspired by a Minimoog trick where the output of a synthesizer is fed back to the input of the filter and an overdrive of the filter circuit is created resulting in a distinctive crunchy sound. It’s not a Minimoog of course. OSCar is mostly digital, its frequency range is limited, but despite these limitations, it sounds great. It has that inexplicable charisma that vintage analog synths usually have.
